MG Design's Fox River Mills OR Booth Exhibit Receives Sustainability Award
From ExhibitorOnline:
For the Outdoor Retailer Summer Market, Fox River called on MG Design to design and build a new exhibit property that took into consideration green practices just as Fox River does when manufacturing their products. MG Design set out to create a 20’x30’ exhibit space that accurately communicated Fox River’s brand and quality while emphasizing their commitment to the environment. ‘Our goal was to incorporate as many sustainable options as possible into the project,’ said Doreen O’Reilly, account executive, MG Design. ‘At each opportunity we had to select materials, we searched for green alternatives to present to our client.’
MG Design began by using water-based wood stain made with low VOCs. Vapors from Volatile Organic Compounds are harmful to the ozone layer. Fox River’ s prior exhibits were carpeted but MG specified cork for the floor and walls. The cork tiles are made from bark peeled from cork oak trees. The cork oaks thrive and regenerate, while never being cut down, which makes them completely sustainable. This year’s exhibit was also more energy efficient. The new design used low voltage fixtures and fewer light fixtures were used than in year’s prior. MG Design did not use any laminate in the booth to avoid the laminate adhesive process that can be harmful to the environment.
